Maciej Kądziela

In his artistic work, Kądziela leads and co-creates several projects, including:

  • LUNAMË – Kądziela’s original and forward-thinking project that bridges jazz, improvisation, and contemporary electronic music. The group blends organic instrumental energy with modern production aesthetics. Collaborating with top producers such as Envee, MinT, Wuja HZG, Marcin Staniszewski, and Jan Smoczyński, LUNAMË’s debut album was released on Fair Label and premiered at the Jazz Po Polsku Festival in Warsaw’s Jassmine Club.

  • ZK Collaboration – a group that signed a record deal with Warner Music Poland to release an album in the prestigious Polish Jazz series. The ensemble toured China, performing at the JZ Jazz Festival in Shanghai as well as in Shenzhen, Nanning, and Xiamen, in collaboration with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and Jazz Po Polsku.

  • Kasia Pietrzko Trio feat. Andrzej Chyra & Maciej Kądziela – “Norwid” – an innovative project supported by the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute, merging the poetry of Cyprian Kamil Norwid with contemporary improvised music.

  • Jazz Forum Machine – a band associated with the Polish Radio Music Agency and Agora Music, with whom Kądziela recorded the album “Jammin’ with KC” in the United States. The group also appeared in the renowned Jazz.PL concert series by Polish Radio, promoting the modern sound of Polish jazz.

Saxophonist, composer, improviser

Maciej Kądziela is one of the most versatile and distinctive saxophonists on the contemporary jazz scene. His playing combines technical virtuosity with deep expression and a signature sound that sets him apart among his generation of artists. In his music, he moves effortlessly across genres – from jazz and blues to rock, classical music, world music, and free improvisation.

As a bandleader and recording artist, Kądziela has released music under some of Poland’s most prominent record labels, including Warner Music Poland, Agora Music, Polish Radio, and the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute. He has appeared on around 30 albums as both a leader and a sideman, collaborating with leading figures of the Polish and international jazz scenes.

LUNAMË is the new project by saxophonist and composer Maciej Kądziela, where jazz meets contemporary electronic sound, and improvisation merges with carefully crafted production. It’s music rooted in pulse and emotion — blending the organic energy of live performance with modern studio aesthetics.

The band features Natalia Kordiak – vocals, Kasia Schmidt-Przeździecka – bass, Staszek Szmigiero – piano and synthesizers, Marcin Sojka – drums, and Maciej Kądziela – saxophone and electronics. Together, they create a soundscape where groove, space, and harmony fuse into a hypnotic, emotionally charged whole.

The band’s debut album was released under Fair Label, with its premiere concert held on October 19th at Jassmine Club in Warsaw as part of the Jazz Po Polsku Festival. The record redefines the boundaries between jazz, pop, and electronic music — offering a fresh, emotional, and organic sonic experience.

On the production side, LUNAMË collaborates with some of the most innovative figures on the Polish electronic and producer scene: Envee, MinT, Wuja HZG, Marcin Staniszewski, and Jan Smoczyński. Their collective input gives the music a multidimensional character – from club energy and ambient textures to the subtle warmth of analog sound.
